Platini represents Athletic Club Norfolk in the U-19 Boys Division for VSLI. They compete regularly against such teams as Virginia Rush Swoosh, Tri-Cities Lightning Premier, Richmond Strikers Premier, Chesterfield United SC 90 Elite and Lynchburg United SC Elite.

Platini also has played in State Cup Competition for the past four years.

Platini is named for Michel Platini, one of the greatest French players to play the game of soccer. He was known for his fantastic passing ability, which allowed him to cut through even the best defences. He was also known as a strong scorer, particularly in his years with Juventus when he became the Serie A top goal scorer three times in four years. Platini is probably best remembered as the catalyst that helped France to dominate the 1984 European Championships with nine goals in five games. France had never won an international championships before, so it was a very special victory for them. Platini began his career as a teenager in the early 1970s and retired in 1987 with an impressive record of 680 official game appearances and 358 goals.
